He glanced back at her again, his free arm reaching out to steady her slightly as she tripped. "True enough, but it's still amazing." He sped up slightly, hearing the Zombies behind him, "We need to hurry up, don't worry about hitting anything or tripping, I wont let you fall." There wasn't far to go now, but Ezra wanted a good gap between them and the Zombies so that they could get into his house without them noticing where they went.

She sped up as he did. Catya thought it weird that she trusted this new man but she had to remind herself that it had been her that had sought him out at the meeting not the other way around. Trusting him to tell her she knew that if he wanted the zombies to have her he wouldnt have saved her in the first place. Shrugging at his comment she didnt think she was that amazing. She did what she had to to survive and that was all. She told him that too.

Ezra disagreed with her but he didn't comment, reaching his home he pulled at a vine and a rope ladder fell down. "It's a rope ladder, can you climb one or do you need my help?" His words weren't as careful as they usually were, but that was because he was worried about the Zombies catching up with them.

Hearing him mention the rope swing she grit her teeth. Her pride told her to climb it herself but she knew it would cost time if she could do it at all. And the zombies were on their tails. She wasnt about to put both of their lives on the line for a thread of her pride. "Youll have to help me up sorry... How... high is it?"

"Pretty high." He said, he wrapped his arms carefully around her and and held her so that he could carry her with only his arms, leaving his hands free. Ascending the ladder quickly he glanced down at her, knowing that he really shouldn't be enjoying climbing with her in his arms. Reaching the top quickly, Ezra gently lowered her back down then hoisted the rope ladder back up out of sight. After securing the ladder so that it couldn't be pulled down by use of the vine, Ezra went back to Catya, knowing that the leaves and branches below them would hide them. "Are you alright?"

The climb up the ladder was fast yet wobbly and for once Catya was glad that she couldnt see so she couldnt look down. She did however feel safe in his arms which was surprising as she didnt trust often and that fast. Letting go of him as he feet hit the ground she heard him walking around for a bit before he spoke to her. ".. Im fine. You werent kidding when you said that was a long way up. Is this your actual home?"

He laughed at her words, shaking his head, "Nah, I wan't kidding, I built this thing up high. And yes, this is my humble home, big enough for my dragon form mind you, so it's not very humble actually." Touching her arm gently he gave her a slight tug. "Come on, let's go inside, it looks like it's about to rain."

Walking in the direction of his tug and where she could feel the heat of his body she followed him cautiously, not wanting to walk into trouble. "I bet its amazing Ezrahtormal, I wish I could see it." And then, as quickly as it had been brought up she moved on, not wanting to dwell on her loss of sight. "Thank you for.... helping" she aid not wanting to say saving, adament she could have done it herself. She could have she would just probably be slowly succummbing to some disease from various cuts, becoming a zombie herself.

As if he had timed it, the rain started pouring down just as they got inside, giving Ezra barely enough time to shut the door and bar it. Flicking a catch into place to help keep it closed. "That was close." He said, frowning at how drafty the place was, he had suffered in the winter, being so high up the wind had gone straight through his home. At least it was safe from Zombies and any other predators that might want to eat him while he slept. "It's actually pretty shabby. But it's sturdy enough, and it was my pleasure to help you. I couldn't watch you get hurt, even if you were capable of fighting them off yourself."

Hearing the door ebing locked and bolted, Catya flinched at the sound and moved closer to the door out of habit. "You didnt seem like that at the meeting," she commented, wrapping her arms around her body. "In fact people thought you wanted to kill something, someone." She shrugged, claiming it was none of her business and stood there, her body going completely still, going deathly silent. She often did this, retreating into her mind and relying on senses that didnt include movement because she couldnt see. It could be eery to people that hadnt seen it before.

"The only thing I want to kill is Zombies." He grunted, going over to the stone pit in the middle of the room and starting up a fire to try and warm the place up. "And no one was in danger at the meeting so I had no reason to act otherwise." His tone of voice made it clear that he didn't like this particular subject. He wasn't going to try and explain away his hatred, he barely knew the woman, and it wasn't something that he talked about lightly.

The thin woman shrugged again, once again showing that she knew it was none of her business. As intimidated as she was by being locked in with a strange man, she somehow knew he wasnt going to hurt her, regardless of the waves he gave off. The black sunglasses hid her pale blue eyes that showed her weakness for what it really was and she went a deathly silent, hardly moving, not speaking, her breathing only a faint whisper. It was something she did as she didnt have to move or talk to listen to what was happening around her. She stared blindly at the wall straight ahead, her arms wrapped around her middle.

Ezra glanced over at the woman with a slight frown, watching as she merely stood in one place, not moving and not talking, her breathing barely audible. Chucking a couple of logs into the fire, Ezra went over to her and dropped his hands on her shoulders. "Are you alright? You look like you're not here with me right now."

She heard him come towards her but still jumped as his hand landed on her shoulders. She shook herself to clear out of the faze she had been in and muttered that she was fine. "That often happens. Dont worry about it." Walking out from his hands she walked towards where she could feel the heat coming from, trying to sense things that were in her way so that she didnt crash into them. Her movement was slow in the new environment but she eventually reached the fire and sat down in front of it, warming her hands. She had never seen fire before, had never seen how it danced and twisted but she thought it would at least be powerful and beautiful.

After a second of saying nothing, Ezra turned around again and walked back to the fire, sitting down beside her. Pulling a hunting knife from his belt he found a chunk of firewood and started whittling it. It was a habit he had gotten into, he found that it helped him think, and the shavings made great kindling.
