Sabin shook his head, her comment almost, almost, putting a smile on his face. 'Just don't let salt anywhere near them and they'll heal by themselves within a couple of weeks.' He dropped into a crouch, watching her, wings flared slightly to keep him balanced. 'Head between your knees, and take deep breaths. I got your back.' He knew she probably wouldn't trust him much, though was detirmined to watch over her until she was able to properly, his protection instincts in overdrive. His eyes flicked around, resting on each possible access point briefly before going back to her face.

Hesitating slightly in light of his instructions, Diova put her head down between her knees and tried to breathe as slowly as she could. Her eyes flitted to his face and she was reassured to see him looking around. Closing her eyes as she concentrated on her breathing she tensed, straining her other senses just in case something sneaked past him. Although considering how alert he was, it wasn't likely. After a while Diova lifted her head again. "Thanks... again. I'm Diova by the way. Wasn't into telling you before, what with almost becoming Zombie food and you trying make me scream like a girl. Wont happen by the way, not a screamer, not a fainter either in case you get any ideas. Oh, and I like spiders so that rules that out as well. Sorry to disappoint you." As she was still feeling a bit off Diova decided to stay sitting, just in case she did turn out to be a fainter.
>Who does Diova remind you of?<

[um am I supposed to be able to guess?]
He smirked. 'Good to know, but I'll stick around just in case your statement proves wrong.' Sabin paused, debating over whether to tell her his name or not, then snorted. Like she was going to be able to do anything with it, and anyway, any enemy of the Zombies and the GEEA was on his side. 'Sabin. Now, do you mind telling me how you picked up your groupies?' She seemed like she was smart enough to hide when the Zombies came, or fight them when they did, so she obviously didn't know about them until right before he had come down.

She nodded as he gave her his name then grimaced at his question. "Actually I'm thankful for them in a way, they gave me my chance to get away from that other male. Took him by surprise, the coward flew off, leaving me, obviously. I picked them up then, haven't been able to shake them, they could probably smell the blood." She paused, wondering whether she should share her doubt with him, "I think.... I think the Zombies are getting smarter, usually it would of been easier to shake them, even with me bleeding." She frowned at the abyss where they had fallen. "I think they set up an ambush on the bridge, because the other three were with the first one." Shaking her head in worry, Diova turned her gaze back to Sabin.

Fuck, that wasn't good. 'Sometimes they do that. I never really noticed before but now that you've pointed it out, it makes sense.' Damn it. As soon as he thought he had them figured out, they went and fucking evolved. Great, just great. His eyes focused on her wings again, and he frowned. 'Are you alright to stand? I don't want to linger here for too much longer.'

She groaned, "Great, I was hoping you'd say I was just delusional." As a reply to his question she pushed herself to her feet, her hand went out to steady herself against the rock. She let go quickly though, dropping her hand. "Yeah, I'm good."

Nodding, he made a little motion with his hand for her to come over, and quickly explained. 'I'll take you back to my Aerie unless you have somewhere else you can go.' He didn't want to just leave her with nowhere to go, that went against all of his insticts. Whatever option she chose, he would be flying, so he opened his wings, ready to take flight.

Stepping towards him, Diova froned slightly, "I don't really have anywhere to go." Her frown deepened slightly as he opened his wings. "But despite my amazing flying skills, I think it might be better for me to walk wherever you're aiming to take me." She ran a hand carefully over the edge of one of her wings then shrugged as if their over all uselessness at the moment didn't bother her.

Sabin shook his head, a smirk playing over his face. 'That's impossible unless you've figured out a way to walk on air.' Without waiting for an ascent, he scooped her up and launched himself skyward, angling towards the highest wall of the abyss and his hidden home within it. Within a couple of minutes, he had scaled the wall and landed with a light thump on the ledge outside. Putting her down, he pointed with one hand, speaking at the same time. 'Go in and turn left at the first tunnel you come to that branches of the main route.' That would take her to the open 'living room', a place that he had filled with a hoard of couches and cusions, not that he actually used any of them. Not really.

About to come out with a snappy reply, Diova hissed as he scooped her up and leaped into the air. She grabbed hold of him tightly and glared at him as best she could. Normally heights didn't bother her, neither did falling, but as her wings weren't really in flying order she couldn't help herself from tightening her grip, on the unlikely chance that he would drop her. She was relieved when he set her down but frowned at his instructions. She sooo didn't want to get stuck in there, especially as there was no chance she would be able to get away if he decided to make like the last male she had been around. She watched him warily or a moment then turned and went where he had told her. Emerging in a room full of assorted couches. Ignoring them all, Diova went to stand against the wall, waiting for him.

Following her, Sabin paused for the briefest of moments to be sure that the entrance was fully hidden from the outside before making his way down the tunnel. Coming into the open room, he spotted her against the wall and shook his head. 'I'm not going to hurt you, or try anything. Not my style.' Shaking his head again, Sabin walked over and dropped into one of the less plush seats, sprawling there, kicking his feet out with a sigh. 'Sit down will you? You're making me jumpier than I already am.'

She had to admit that he was probably telling the truth, considering the way he had saved her. 'Sit down will you? You're making me jumpier than I already am.' Slowly, Diova moved forward and sat gingerly in a chair, spreading her wings painfully to stop them from being pressed against the back. "Cos you were so jumpy to begin with." she said sarcastically.

Sabin snorted, glancing around again. 'I'm always prepared, it just may not seem like it. Now, can you please tell me what led you to thinking that the Zombies were changing.' Though the words were a question, the tone was a statement, almost telling her to do so. Nothing would prevent him from being totally prepared for anything the Zombies threw at him, and one thing he needed was her information. Getting up again, he held up a finger to withhold anything she said and walked out of the room, heading into one of the smaller caves and coming back with a first aid kit that he had pilfered many years ago and still managed to kepp in stock and up to date. 'Will you let me tend you?' The formal words he spoke were honest and he stilled a metre back from her, knowing that she would react badly unless she had permission. On top of the natural instincts to protect her wings, she had just recently almost been forced into a mating, and would be distrustful of males. It was a wonder she had even let him close.

Opening her mouth to reply she stopped as he held up his finger and disappeared. Her eyes narrowed on the first aid kit as he came back in. SHe didn't answer his question for a long time, weighing up the odds, finally she went with common sense over her instincts. She wouldn't lie to herself and say she was fine. She needed all the help she could get to get back up to flying health again. After an even longer period of time she nodded, keeping her eyes fixed on him. "You make it very hard for me to keep up my 'don't give a shit' attitude when you keep springing shit like this on me." She muttered in a low voice.

Unable to help himself, he chuckled as he stepped closer, sending his blonde hair swinging as he shook his head. 'Yeah, I've had that said before. Move forward a little.' Moving behind her, he put a hand on her shoulder, pressing her forward slightly so that he had full acess to her wings. Setting the kit down on the back of the chair, he opened it, pulling out antiseptic cream, gauze, and strapping tape, as well as bandages. The light material would provide protecting without hampering her wings in any way, and so would everything else he had pulled out. He produced a bowl and pitcher of water from somewhere in the room, and he used his hands to rub the water over her wings, getting out all of the dirt and grime from the open cuts and tears.
