Right, after her wings healed she was never setting foot on solid ground again. If she survived that was. Backing carefully across the bridge, Diova kept her gaze locked on the approaching Zombie. The thing looked like it was melting, the rotting flesh falling off its bones even as it stalked her. it was at such an advanced stage of deterioration that she couldn't even tell whether it was female or male. Not that it mattered. It was out to kill her anyway, regardless of its sex. Continuing to back slowly away from her pursuer she heard a soft noise behind her. Snapping her head around so that she could see over her shoulder she found three more Zombies making their way to wards her from the opposite direction. "Fuck" She muttered, stopping. Well, she was out of choices now. It was either death by long drop into the abyss or death by Zombie. As no one really knew what the Zombies did to their victims, Diova was opting to wards jumping. Maybe she could hope for a fucking miracle. Like her shredded wings managing to bear her in flight. Not fucking likely. And she didn't want to risk fighting them, she had a hell of a lot of open wounds in her wings, and being infected by the Zombies was not high on her list of things to do before she died. Not that she had any time to fulfill anything. Giving her..... uncomfortable position. Stepping back wards, Diova put herself on the very edge of the natural bridge. She opened her shredded wings slightly, even knowing that there was no chance she would be able to fly with them, probably couldn't even glide. She glanced back and forth between the Zombies, well at least she got the choice of how she was going to die. With a unconcerned shrug, Diova spun around and launched herself off the bridge.

There is no light in sight Only a tunnel of pain Only your legs will carry you Carry you to the end
Live your life for yourself Or live for the struggle at best Just don't let it strangle you Just don't let it strangle you
Looking down from his perch, high above ground level and even further above the bottom of the abyss, the shadowed figure watched as the Zombies cornered their prey. From his angle, he couldn't see what they were hunting, but guessed it was one of the humans that littered the caves. Typical.
Their prey moved back further, and his golden eyes narrowed, a snarl ripping out of him at the shredded remains of wings, the Gen One Harpy's hopelessness. He knew what she was going to do as she did it, throwing himself off his perch at the same time she stepped into air. As she fell, her tattered wings actually slowed her down, so he had time to catch up, his own wings tucked tightly to his body as he plummeted down. Spinning, he swept under her, chest up, stoppping her fall with his body. With a growl, he managed to control their fall, pulling up so he was moving upwards with her in his arms. Coming level with where the Zombies waited, he placed her down on the other side and turned, blonde hair whipping around with the force of the movement. Pulling out a dagger one hand and a SIG sauer in the other, he faced off with the 'undead', with the chasm between them.

Diova couldn't help but feel a surge of pride in her shredded wings, they slowed her down a bit. Of course, they wouldn't have slowed her down sufficiently enough by the time she hit the bottom of the abyss. If there was a bottom. But she still had to be proud at the way they stabilised her fall, keeping her from spinning hopelessly. Something hit her, hard. The breath escaped her lungs like they had been crushed into her backbone. Which in all likeness, they had. GRabbing hold of whatever she had hit, Diova blinked furiously to clear the little flashes of light from her eyes. As she felt herself rising again she found that what she had hit, or more accurately, what had hit her, was another harpy. He was holding her against his chest as he flew upwards. "Nice wings." Diova croaked, before focusing on convincing the air to re inhabit her starved lungs. "They seem to be working a tad better than mine." Once he had placed her on the opposite side of the abyss Diova managed to keep her feet by leaning against the rocky side. She was still slightly winded but was getting over that quickly. Pulling herself into a more upright position she watched as the large male faced off against the Zombies. "Sorry if I don't help, I have open wounds and frankly, I don't want to become a Zombie."

Sabin let his gaze flick back briefly to the female, who was supporting herself on the rock wall. 'I wouldn't blame you.' His amber eyes turned back to his quarry, who were sniffing around the area the female had dropped with an urgency that only the mindless Zombies had. Lifting his gun, he sighted and pulled the trigger, knocking one of the four back into a lifeless heap. Ignoring the kickback, he fired again, killing another and hitting a third in the thigh before his blade left his hand, thunking into the wounded one's throat and toppling that one. With only a single Zombie left, Sabin strode across the bridge, completely confident. His foot slammed into the howling undeads chest, throwing it backwards and away from the edge. Advancing, he slipped around its pathetic attempts at attacks and grabbed it's rotting neck from behind, his other hand resting lightly on it's head. A sharp twist and a crack, and the thing slumped to the ground. Contemptuously, he knocked all four corpses into the abyss after retrieving and cleaning his blade, ignoring them as they fell to the bottom. He walked back over the bridge, wings once again tucked into his sides, shoving the dagger back into it's holster. It had taken all of five minutes, if that, but they had been inexperienced in fighting when they had been alive and well, and had been the same in their diseased condition. 'How bad are your wings?' He questionsed, looking over the female he had pulled out of the abyss.

Watching the males amazing fighting skills Diova pulled herself off the rock wall and stood steady once again on her two feet. "Thanks." She said softly as he came back towards her, but that was the only hint of her fear before she covered it again. "I was in a bit of trouble for a second." She hesitated as he asked about her wings, trying not to think about how they had been wounded. "Pretty bad I think, I haven't had much time to check them over what with....... traveling and all." Not exactly traveling, but she didn't even know this male. She spread her wings and looked over her shoulder at them, wincing, hoping that they weren't to damaged so they wouldn't heal. A pang of fear shot through her at the idea of not being able to fly again.

He could sense her fear of never being able to use her wings again, and he knew exactly where she was coming from, the same thing having happened to him before he had escaped. 'Will you let me see them?' He asked her, cautious because a Harpy's wings were the most vunerable place on their body, and being so close to them was something that wouldn't be taken lightly, let alone touching them when they were injured.
[soz had to go]

'Will you let me see them?' Diova snapped her wings tight to her sides, eying him with mistrust. There really wasn't any reason for her to be so over protective and hell, whatever he tried he probably wouldn't damage her wings anymore than they already were. Slowly she opened her wings again, watching him narrowly through bright silver eyes. "I guess so....." She said slowly, although she still made no move to turn to let him examine them. "Just tell me what you're doing."

Sabin took a cautious step, though his face was expressionless. Making sure she could see what he was doing, he moved in behind her, examining the damage without touching. They had been almost completely shredded, the claw marks ripping through tendon and muscle, almost to bone. 'What did this? How long ago?' Instead of his normal cool demeanour, his voice was filled with icey anger, that something had done this to her. 'I'm going to touch them now, and check to see if the bones are damaged. It will probably hurt, though I can't prevent it.' Without waiting for permission, he lightly brushed his fingers over the larger bone in one of her wings, then firmly though still genlty over the smaller ones branching off it. No fractures, or completely broken bones, though plenty of shredded muscle and missing feathers.

Turning her head to keep him in view as he moved around her and flinched slightly at his sudden anger. 'What did this? How long ago?' Diova watched him warily, the anger wasn't directed at her but at what had been done to her wings. She didn't really want to explain the whole situation to him but if it could help him with her wings..... "Ummm, not that long ago, and another harpy did this, when I refused to.... mate him." She flinched as he touched her wing, glancing over her shoulder again. "I'm fine though, really, it's far easier traveling alone, despite having to walk."

Sabin's hand stopped, about to do the same to her other wing, and the blast of anger that came from him was almost corporeal, staggering in it's strength. 'Where?' He said it as a statement rather than a question, though he still wanted an answer. This male needed to pay for what he had done. A female had rights, to pick who and when she wanted to mate. No male worth anything would force her, or punish her for the wrong decision. On top of that, this was HIS territory. Females, he could handle, but and fucking male in the are better watch his back. His fingers continued their movement after a brief hesitation, and on this wing he found what he had been expecting yet dreading. 'You have two broken bones in this wing, though they're minor and relitively clean from what I can tell. I'll need to set them if you want to fly again. It will hurt.' His hand hovered over the broken bones, fingers brushing the tattered feathers there, though barely touching.

Glancing warily over her shoulder to confirm that his anger wasn't directed at her, Diova shook her head. "I don't..... I left him a while back, he might of followed though. He did this to my wings so I couldn't get away. Wouldn't of either. Never thought I'd be so pleased to see those fucking Zombies though." She laughed grimly, the zombies, the ones that had been followed her, had caused enough of a distraction for her to escape. The male harpy had flown away, but with every intention of coming after her. She flinched as his hand ran over her wing, however gently he was touching it. ' I'll need to set them if you want to fly again. It will hurt.' Diova flicked her gaze over her shoulder again. "Yeah, I can deal, as long as I can fly again, I can deal." Turning her gaze straight ahead again she stared around them, watching not just for Zombies.

With a rumble of both anger at the unknown male and approval for her statement. With no warning whatsoever, he shoved the bone back to where it should be, holding it against any movement until he could be sure that the accelerated healing of the female would have latched it into place. He slowly released it, eyes never wavering from her head, watching her for any signs of attack. Even though she had allowed him to do it, there were primitive insticts that would take over, and might take a snap at him. He didn't want to touch the other one until he was sure that he would be able to set the bone fully.

Diova yelled in pain as he shoved the broken bone, trying to jerk herself away from him. Stopping herself from spinning around and attacking him she bit her lip hard, muscles trembling. "Fuck, thanks for the warning." She muttered, not looking back at him, trying to convince her heat to calm the fuck down because she wasn't being attacked right now and she needed the male to do the other bone so that she had a shot at flying again. The idea of going through that pain again wasn't particularly appealing, but she wasn't going to stop him. She needed to fly, and not just as a self preservation tactic.

With a snort, he shook his head even though she wouldn't be able to see him, facing away as she was. 'You would have freaked, flinched, made it impossible. Hold yourself still.' That was his only warning as he repeated the action, wrenching the second bone back into place, holding it steady until her healing took over. Releasing her, Sabin stepped backwards and watched her with contemplative eyes. She had reacted less violently to the pain than he had expected, and had even contained the side that probably still wanted to spin and attack. More so now, as he had done the smae thing again.

Baring her teeth in a snarl, Diova pulled away from him the second he let her. Pacing away a couple of metres, trying to shake off the pain and her instincts that were screaming at her to attack him. "I'm just gonna sit down for a second." She muttered, then did so. trying to keep her wings as still as possible to avoid hurting them more. "Thanks, I guess." She said, Her mind knowing he had helped her even though her body was still reacting to him hurting her. Breathing deeply she put her head down and closed her eyes, feeling dizzy from the pain. She looked up quickly though, eyes raking across the abyss, checking for danger. "That was fun. Do you have any more torturous healing ideas on you?"
