Micky skidded to a halt, recognising his danger just in time, panting he trembled beside the large pool of sinking sand, looking around anxiously, he didn't know where he was, his mummy had shown him this place before, the sinking plains, but he didn't know how to get back home. His mum needed him, or more correctly his mum needed medicine. But instead of finding any he had become lost. Whimpering with fear and hopelessness, Micky hurried towards the shelter of the forest, huddling down underneath a tree and trying desperately to remember how to get home.

It was pretty bright out, around midday, and the whole area was sweltering, which was no big deal, considering it was summer. There was no breeze, which was irritating at best, and it was incredibly humid, making it hard to breathe at times. Despite this, there was a large shape wedged between two branches of a tall tree, and that large shape, after a moment, resolved to be a large, fully humanoid man, seemingly asleep in high in the tree. He wasn't asleep though, meerely sunbathing, soaking up the summer sun through the leaves and the denim blue jeans he was wearing. Shirtless though he was, there was a heavy black trenchcoat draped over a nearby branch, and a buttondown tee slung over it. Hearing a soft sound, however, his eyelids flicked open, revealing brilliantly teal eyes that matched his short ruffled blonde hair. Sitting up made the branches wobble a little, causing rustling of the leaves, and he froze, wanting to hear the sound again without giving away his presence. Hearing it again, and instantly reconising it, Rhage grabbed his shirt and jacket and stood, before latching onto a branch just overhead and swinging himself out, just enough to clear the tree. As soon as he did, he let go of the branch, falling a good twenty feet and landing with a light thump on the balls of his feet in a light crouch. He was on the very edge of the sinking plains, and had he landed a metre to the left, he would have landed on the fake grass/moss that would have sucked him down greedily. Instead, he glanced around, looking for the owner of the whimper, who he knew was there. 'Micky? Micky where are you?' The deep notes of his voice were pitched so that they just reached the trees around him, but Rhage knew that the boy was very near. Glancing around again, he spotted a flash of colour, and slowly made his way over, away from the open clearing. finding the boy, huddled against one of the trees, Rhage hurried over, at the same time shrugging into his shirt and jacket, leaving them hanging open, to free up his hands. Crouching in front ofthe boy, his head was tipped to the side slightly. 'Micky, wheres your mum?'

Micky looked up at the sound of his name being called, relief washing over him as he recognised the voice. Seeing the huge draconoh coming towards him he sat up, trying to hide the tears from him. He could't hold them back however as Rhage crouched in front of him and asked where his mummy was. Whimpering, Micky threw himself at Rhage and hugged him, hiding his face in the males shirt, shaking hard. "I don't know." He whimpered, clutching at Rhage. "She's sick, I can't get back."

As the young boy as good as tackled him, sobbing into his shirt, Rhage instantly folded his arms around him, holding him tight and picking him up as he straightened, one hand slowly rbbing the child's back. 'I can get you home, don't worry about that now. What do you mean your mum's sick? Do you know what's wrong with her?' It was pretty easy to get sick out here, and with any types of medicine in short supply, it was hard to get hold of, making illness even more dangerous. Starting to walk, Rhage headed over to where Micky had come from , searching for his familiar scentto guide them back to where Nehvae was.

Micky clung to Rhage tightly as he stood up, his head lifting as he tried to rub away the tears. It wasn't working though, more kept coming. "I don't know what's wrong with her. She's really hot and she didn't notice me leaving. I was trying to find something to help her." His voice was small as he talked, holding tight to Rhage's shirt to keep himself stable.
>Sorry. I have to go.<

Catchiing the scent he was looking for, Rhage started to make his way through the dense forest, following the trail that Mickey had left. Even though they'd probably go in circles for a bit, they would get back to Nehvae reletively son. Especially considering Micky was in good condition, they couldn't be too far off. 'It only sounds like she has a fever, though I'll have to check her. If it's just that, I know how to make her better. Don't worry, Micky, I'll get you back to her.' His hands kept rubbing reassuring circles on the boys back as he carried him, his voice kind. 'You've been very brave though, coming out to find medicine for her.'

Micky clung close to Rhage, the tears still spilling silently down his cheeks, "Tank yoo." He whispered, his hands tightening into fists in his top. He tucked his head into the males chest, hiding his face and his tears away from sight.

Though he stopped talking, Rhage began to hum, something his mother had always done for him when he was afraid or sad. It was a simple song, one from their clan about the changing of seasons, but the rhythm was comforting, reassuring. As he slowly picked his way through the brush, he marvelled at the distance Micky had covered in search for something to save his mum. That core determintaion was something that would help him get through his life.

Micky slowly relaxed as he listened to Rhage's soft voice humming to him, his breathing slowed and his head settled more comfortably against Rhage's shoulder. "She didn't even notice me weaving." He whimpered, hugging him. "She was sleeping."

Well, either sleeping or unconcious, but he didn't say that out loud, not wanting to spook the boy into thinking it was worse than it was before he had even seen Nehvae. 'When people are sick, they sleep a lot, but I'll check to make sure, okay? Theres nothing to worry about.' Looking around as the ground started to get rockier, he realised they were apporaching the Abyss, and knew they must be getting close. It was well known that there were a lot of hideouts in the walls of the Abyss, though it was rare that you ever saw them. 'Micky, I need you to show me which one's yours, okay?'

Micky was relieved at Rhage's words. He would make it better, he had to. At Rhage's words his small head lifted and he scanned their surroundings before pointing at a section of the rock face about two metres up with a small ledge. There was no sight of a cave or tunnel, just plain wall. He knew where he was now, and he knew where his home was. "There."
>Sorry<
