Sing it out Boy you've got to see what tomorrow brings Sing it out Girl you've got to be what tomorrow needs For every time that they want to count you out Use your voice every single time you open up your mouth Summer. The heat wrapped around all living creatures, and any that were out basked in the glory of the sun. It wasn't hard to see why cats loved to recline and soak it up, as all diurnal creatures were. Snakes lay curled on rocks, and cats of all shapes and sizes sprawled on anything that would support them, lazing in the sun. Indeed it was so for two, larger than normal, black panthers. One had eyes the colour of emerald, the glinting sharpness watching out for danger, as the other's eyes were closed, her lean, smaller body on her back and stretched out. After a long moment, tey blinked open, revealling the purest shade of cobalt blue anyone could look for. She let out a deep, rumbling purr as they relaxed, and her brother gave a whoofing laugh in reply. The clearing they were in was shaded by large trees on one side, but the vast majority of it was open to the skies, and they took advantage of it. The bigger male, Dante, heaved himself up and sauntered over to a small, trickling stream at one end, the thick muscle rippling under sleek, gleaming fur. 'Danika, it's time we hunted.' He growled, not in human but in the language of the cats as he glanced back to his smaller, leaner sister.

A sleek black panther kept to the shadows of the forest surrounding the clearing, her eyes twitching in annoyence. Golden eyes had in fact seen the other big cats in the clearing, or rather they had seen the larger one, though the panther could sense a smaller one. Her longer than usual tail flicked from side to side as she contemplated whether or not to enter the clearing, a motive that would require socialising. The sun however, even with the cool of the trees and the shadows they flung off, was getting to her, the black of her coat not helping. Sneezing, her whiskers twitched before she emerged out of her cover and entered the annoyingly sunny clearing. Blinking, her cat eyes adjusted to the light yet she needed to rest if she was going to eat tonight or any nights in the relitave furture. Meeting both of the new cats' gazes, she padded over and settled under one of the trees, the forest having being to rooted to do so. Tucking both paws underneath her large body she made sure she was far away that she could defend or leave if need be if the other cats took offense. She was safe in her postion.

Glancing up at the sound of pawsteps, Dante couldn't help but growl at the sight of another panther emerging from the trees at one side of the clearing. Never having seen her before, and her it was, he didn't know how she would act towards him, or more importantly, to his sister. He knew how to fight, but she could be softhearted at times. His body posture stiffened, but when all the female did was walk through and sit down, he relaxed slightly, though still watchful as he bent and lapped up water before heading back to where his sister sat. Or, had sat.
As soon as the female panter came into view, Danika jumped up, her eyes lighting up at the prospect of meeting someone new. Heading over at a brisk walk, she almost tripped herself up, she was so eager to meet this new female. Righting herself, Dani sat herself in front of her and gave a grin, as much as a cat could. 'Hi! Im Danika, and the grumpy heap over there is my brother Dante. You staying around here?' Her voice was mellow, easy to listen to, not too high, not too low, but it held an excitement that shone in her eyes.

The fur on the back of her neck stood up at the bigger cat, the males, growl. She didnt move however, didnt budge, merely sitting in the spot she had rightfully claimed. When he stopped growling, her body relaxed only slightly, the fur on the back of her neck falttening, the movement also slight. Her golden eyes drifted away from the males handsome emerald eyes to fix on his younger sister by the sound of whatr she had been blabbing. Flicking her ears in a greeting she used only in passing other cats, she pulled her exceptionally long tail around her, the length of it obvious. "Perhaps. I dont tend to stay in one place too long." Her body was still thin after the long winter even with spring and its new animals. Living alone had its disadvangates.

Sabin always thought he was too cautios, even to his standards, but Dante had to be. It wasn't just his own pelt he was looking out for, but his excitible sister. If that made him cautious, then he was cursed to be that way. Call it the Brother Syndrome. Realising that despite the other cat's cless-than-friendly answer, Danika wouldn't leave well enough along, he huffed a sigh and sat, curling his tail around his paws as he watched the other two, his deep emerald eyes picking up even the smallest motion.
She did notice the ruffling of the other cat's hackles, but took no notice, realising it was in reaction to her brothers growl. He was such a grumpy bugger, always so serious, but she loved him anyway. Glancing over at him, she gave him what she hoped was a reassuring look before looking back at the new cat. 'Really? Does it get tedious, having to move all the time?' She was on;y being friendly, not nosy, so Dante couldn't do squat.

Watching the male of the two, the most dangerous, Ashlyn twitched her whiskers and remained in her defensive posture. Those yellow eyes narrowed ever so slightly before moving back to the female yet again, her features becoming more relaxed. "No not really. I dont have to rely on anyone or anyone to let down. I prefer to not settle down." Twitching her tail, Ashlyns eyes flickered to the males gaze again and then back to the female. She didnt have much to say. She didnt really socialise much unless she really knew others and at the moment she didnt know these cats. Luckily the female cat was social otherwise there wouldnt be much of a conversation

Knowing Dante was watching every move either she or the female made, Danika could be more friendly than she would normally be around a strange cat. 'I guess. I mean, I'd survive without Dante, but it'd be harder, and he likes to keep an eye on me because he's decided hes the one who knows everything.' She shrugged, her pelt rippling as she did, and her bright eyes glanced back to her broter before going back to ... it occured to Dani that she didn't know this cat's name. Time to remedy that. 'What's your name?'

Ashlyn spared the time to swipe her tongue of the fur on her shoulder before turning her head back to the two other cats. Her bright yellow eyes never left them as she did so, proof she lived alone, fended for herself. That long tail flicked again at the young she cats words. Standing, Ashlyns tail just sweeped the ground as it curved up again and she moved around the two cats to another tree that was bathed in shadows. She ignored the question except for a flick of her ears and Ooce lying down, Ashlyn wlicked one heavy paw before wiping it over her face lazily. "Why do you want to know?"
