Moving silently through the deep forest he looked up at the sky, pale blue-grey eyes searching the heavens through a gap in the trees. The moon was a thin sliver of light hanging unsuspended in the sky, the light it gave out so little that it was out shone by the stars. Clouds drifted in, obscuring it even as he watched, dark and heavy, threatening a storm. "Perfect." The single word in his head made his muzzle wrinkle in a smile. His sisters voice reaching him from a mile away, silent as a thought. It was a thought. And it echoed his thoughts as exactly as if it was one of them. "I couldn't agree more. The conditions are perfect." Fajar continued his long lope, scenting the air for the prey that he and Senja had been tracking for three days. Tonight was the night. Senja would run around the front of the herd of deer and cut them off. She was already in position, running beside the herd, selecting the weakest of the them. As if he was there himself he saw her select a doe with an old injury of the leg that hadn't healed right, making her less agile than the rest. It was exactly what he would of picked. He continued in a tireless lope and caught up with Senja and the heard just as the rain began to fall. There was no need for him to tell his position to Senja. She would know where he was, as he knew where she was.
Senja tracked the doe that she and her brother would so soon be devouring. Her stomach growled at her, reminding her that they hadn't eaten for many days. That would change tonight. Nothing could get in their way. Sensing Fajar close in, Senja sped around to the front of the herd of deer, then she howled. Plunging amongst the herd she tracked the doe, scattering the heard and running the small group that had broken of which contained the doe. Every now and then she allowed a deer to peel away from the group, until it was only her target that she was chasing. She drove it between trees, towards the open. The doe, sensing the freedom of a clearing, bolted in that direction, unaware that Senja wasn't the only wolf hunting her. True to form, just as the doe had nearly made it to safety, and as Senja was starting to wonder what the fuck her brother was doing, Fajar came lunging out of the undergrowth, hitting the doe with a devastating blow. It was over quickly after that, Senja going in for the kill and putting the doe out of her misery. Senja turned to Fajar. "WHat the fuck were you doing? Chasing butterflies?"

The sounds of galloping hooves alerted the creatures in the forest around them that something was wrong. It was normal to have hunters chase and take down their prey, so no one really payed much attention to it, other than moving out of the path of the hunted animal and it's hunters. Well, all did, apart from one. The huge male stood stock still with the light wind ruffling the feathers of his white and gold wings, the only real oddity in his otherwise human form. Amber eyes were fixed on the direction the noise was coming from, and honey-blonde hair was tied at the nape of his neck so that it didn't get caught as he moved. He was tall, muscular, and held himself with the confidence of a warrior. Which he was.
He was utterly silent, without motion, until he gave a little growl, almost a little huffing noise, and two large panthers emerged from the surrounding forest, appearing as silently as they moved across the grass, not a single sound. Until they gave little growls of greeting, reaching the man and rubbing their heads on his jean-clad legs. He bent, rubbing his hands through their fur, a smile on his face. His panthers were the only thing that could make Sabin de la Cruz smile, well, them and Diova, but these two had been around far longer than the female Harpy, and he hadn't seen them for a while, as they had chosen to roam the forest themselves for a few months. He seemed to barely notice as the two wolves took down their prey not too far away, though as soon as his greetings were complete, he stood and turned, spotting the two larger-than-normal wolves with a carcass of a doe. He instantly knew that these wolves were what he was, what his panthers were : Genetically Modified. With the two panthers at his back, he cautiously approached them, not knowing how they would react. As a male Harpy, he was incredibly territorial, and liked to know who and what of the GeMoCs and GeMoAs were in his territory. He hadn't seen these two before, and so approached them now.

It was Senja that noticed the others first. She lifted her head from the doe and let out a low, long, threatening growl. She stood hackles raising and she stepped forward on stiff legs, her eyes, black as the night, shone with barely contained hatred. Her muzzle pulled back, baring her large canines as she stalked towards them.
The aggressive growl that came from Senja startled him and he spun in the direction she was looking, ears flattening reflectively in her anger. He frowned at the new additions to the scene. A gen one Harpy and two Panthers, GeMoa like them it seemed. His ears remained flattened but he flicked his gaze between them. What did Senja think she was doing? Challenging them? Two over sized panthers and a Harpy. "Senja?" the question was directly mind to mind, no other sign of communication passed around them. She looked over her shoulder at him as he rose from his sitting position and moved towards her. "You truly are mad, my sister." He thought to her, giving her muzzle a nudge. He trotted up to meet the Harpy halfway, his warm blue eyes examining them, ears once again pricked. He was aware of Senja coming up beside him, her anger rolling off her in waves. He had never understood her dislike for everyone but him, he didn't go on at her about it though.

The noise of pounding hooves had startled her as she slept under a rather large Oak tree, but there was something else. Looking over to her left, GriZelda Avarhi took a long glance at her black cat, rather large for his age, as he narrowed his eyes and arched his back. A small hiss escaped his parted muzzle, and his soft black tail was fluffed, and his legs stiff. "Shh, Shh, B. What is it?" she whispered, running her hand down his back, and then over his tail, slightly flattening it back to it's normal state. Looking up through the branches of the Oak, She noticed that the sky was very dark, and she remembered that the moon was nothing but a small slither tonight. Almost moonless. That would explain why she couldn't see properly. Shifting her hand uneasily from the foliage, it slipped onto her hilt, where her hunting knife rested. Propping herself up with one hand, Her black skinny-leg jeans moved silently, and her black trench coat ruffled on the makeshift bed, made out of leaves and twigs, making the slightest of noise. Shifting her feet on the leaves, her black canvas shoes snapped a branch. Drawing a sharp breath, her eyes grew wide. If there was something here, it was bound to find her now. Grasping the halter of her knife, she inched up until she was fully standing up, her head reaching about 6"4. Pulling her hands off the tree, she pulled back her hair and tied it into a rough low ponytail, but her fringe strands fell over her eyes. She soon fixed that, just brushing them to the side, into a side-fringe. The movement of her arms made her long-sleeve dark grey blouse pull up, but still not enough to reveal her stomach. Placing her hands back onto the tree-trunk, she inched around the tree, soon coming to a view that made her stomach drop. There, in the grass, only a mere two/three hundred meters away from her stood a Harpy with two black panthers, and across from them stood two wolves. The panthers and wolves, however, weren't just any pain old animals. They where GeMoAs. Zell's black cat rubbed up against her leg, and she looked down at it with fear struck in her eyes, The slight purr of him made her feel the slightest bit safer, but he was only a domestic cat, and she was only human. What where they to do if they found her? Then she realized that she had her father. Looking around, and sure enough, only around twenty feet away from her, huddled under a tree was her father. Obviously the deer hadn't woken him, nor her. So she decided to let him sleep, unless needed. Looking back over to the Harpy, panthers and wolves, she crouched next to the tree and put her hand on B's back. His black fur blended in perfectly with the night, and she had chosen black herself, so like B, she would blend in, but her face and hands might betray her. Keeping her hand on Blackberry, she stared intently at the other beings, watching their movements.

Sabin kept his gaze on the two wolves, though one of his panthers, Dante, suddenly spotted something and slid off to the side, away from their group and blending into the forest surrounding. Sabin moved into a crouch, putting him at head height to the wolf that had come forward, seemingly friendly. 'Are you planniing on living here?' he asked, voice directed at not only the wolves, but whoever else was in the trs surrounding thm. He knew someone was there by the fact that Dante had moved off, the three falling into their typical routines, the panther going to scout as Danika stayed with Sabin.
The large, solid black panther paused in the trees, nose lifted to the air, sniffing. He had sensed someone else in the clearing, someone more human, someone other than the animals and Sabin, and he had moved to find and neutralise the threat, if it was such. Moving furthr from his 'pack' as such, Dante paused, then changed direction before leaping up into a huge oak tree and padding out along one of the thick lower branches, right above a female, human form. He lay down above her, tail hanging down off the branch and flicking from side to side gently as he watched her to determine if she would be a threat to his pack.

Fajar sat down in front of the Harpy and tilted his head to the side. Showing that he was thinking about the males question. His gaze turned to Senja, noting that she was still aggressive, although he hadn't expected otherwise. "No." Came her voice in his head. Hard and decisive, he whined softly. "Senja, this is the best place we have come across since we were forced to leave." She let out a sharp bark. "This is not the best place, if we are so readily confronted." He glared at her, realising that they were getting into one of their very rare arguments and hating it. "They did not confront us Sen, you did. And you know Harpies are territorial, but usually only to other Harpies, he's just checking us out." His reply was another sharp bark and a stinging pain in his head. Trying to reason with her was hard, keeping the peace with her was even harder. "Senja, I'm tired, we can stay here for a while maybe, and make our decision in a few days." When he received no answer he heaved a sigh of relief and turned back towards the Harpy. He shrugged then tilted his head both ways, indicating that they were unsure what to do. He winced as he felt Senja's anger and watched her mournfully as she left. Tail stiff, ears flattened, the picture of fury. She stormed straight past the doe and disappeared into the forest, blocking her mind from him as she left. He let out another small whine as she did so, feeling the sudden flare of loss as he always did when they were separated.

She felt B's body quiver as the Harpy looked at them. A cold shiver went down her spine as she looked harder and realized that one of the panthers was missing. Her heart thumped in her ribcage as B started to hiss. Looking up slowly she first saw the black tail, then came the body. Huge. She took a step back, and so did B, but hissing remained as a threat to the panther. "Ssh b!" she scorned just loud enough for him to hear. It was no use threatening the huge cat, because with one pounce, she could be gone. His pale amber eyes looked up at her and she stared back. His hissing stopped, but his body actions where still the same. Her gaze snapped back up to the panther, and her vivid green eyes stood out through her black and blonde fringe hanging over her face. Her hand slowly slipped from by her side to the knife. Still crouching, her eyes didn't move from the feline. The halter of the knife was black so it was barely visible against her jeans, and her coat was half covering it, so if she needed it she would have to pull back her coat. Her eye twitched at the thought of the panther getting the better of her, but she realized that it might just be the case.

Sabin could see the hostility in the she-wolf's eyes, and so could Danika, who instinctively fluffed herself up and bared teeth. Placing a hand on her shoulder, Sabin kept his gaze on the friendly wolf, the male, who was now obviously suffering as his - mate? sister? travelling partner? - stalked off. 'That's fine, you're welcome to stay. But, a word of advice? You might want to go mollify her. Otherwise who knows what might happen.' He gave the wolf a faint smile and straightened, flaring his wings. Sabin turned, eyes scanning the forest for any sign of Dante, or the person who had caught the male panther's eye. His wings flared instinctively, the white bordered by gold that flashed in the light as his amber eyes never stopped drifting over each and every plant he could see.
Dante knew exactly when the female had spotted him, and his face split into a cat-like smile, teeth bared but not in a menacing way. His eyes locked with the cats for a moment before returning to the human, who had reached for a weapoon, it seemed. He growled quietly, eyes flashing to the hand he couldn't see, that was closed around her weapon, whatever it was. It was a clear warning. 'Let it go, and I won't hurt you.' His nostrils flared, and his tail twitched, almost touching the female, the black hairs missing by an inch.

Fajar grunted and shook his head, as much as he wanted to go after Senja, nothing he could say or do would calm her, it would make her even more angry. Letting out a miserable whine, Fajar followed the Harpy instead, needing to distract himself from his sisters raging anger.
Senja stalked through the dark forest, furious to the point of distraction. If she was reasonable in thought she knew that there was no point in her anger, there very rarely was, and she knew that every time that she stormed off like this she caused her brother un told amounts of pain and worry. The knowledge only succeeded in making her angrier. Growling to herself she stalked on, not caring where she was going. She couldn't get lost, not when she had her connection to Fajar.

Taking the huge black cat's warning, Zell reluctantly pulled her hand from the halter, but kept her gaze locked onto that of the panther. It slightly reminded her of B, but... Bigger. Their toothy grin, the black pelt, evan the eyes where similar. Flinching as the panther's tail twitched, she looked at it for a second, then back up to the panther. She was tempted to hiss at the feline, but was also concerned that it might aggravate it, or attract more unwanted attention. Clenching her fists, she rubbed her hands on her thighs, making her knuckles turn white, but keeping them warm. Looking past the panther's black frame, Zell looked up into the sky and on the clouds. They where a very dark grey. A promise of rain. Just as she flicked her eyes back onto the silky black panther, the sky cracked open with a burst of light, and soon followed a low rumble of thunder. It had startled her, and made her look around. Putting a reassuring hand on B's back, because he absolutely hated thunder and lightning, let alone rain, she looked over to her father. Or where he had been. Furrowing her eyebrows, she franticly looked around for her father, her black/violet red hair swinging with the movement of her torso. Her breathing started to get more frantic at the thought of not having him with her and being killed by a panther. Or a Harpy. Slowing her breathing, she looked back up at the panther, and tried to make an attempt at looking calm, and it worked. She parted her lips and let out a slow, quiet hiss, a warning that she would take him on and risk losing, but she wasn't afraid of him. Her green eyes narrowed to little green fires, but not of annoyance or anger, more of just concern. Hearing her reaction, B joined in, his hissing more reluctant though, not exactly sure why they where in the first place. Placing one hand on the damp ground, she kept the other on B.

Dante made a whuffling noise, and it was obvious he was laughing at her. He gave a rumbling growl that effectively said that she would loose no matter what she did and stood, leaping down from his branch to land in front of her. Shaking his great head slightly, he began to herd her towards Sabin, who was moving towards them, having spotted Dante as he moved. Looking at the cat with the woman, Dante let out a great breath, whiskers twitching, telling the other feline to move. He hadn't seen a cat that small before, though he had mainly stuck to the wild areas. He suspected this was one of those ... house cats he had been told about, but had never thought he would see.
Having seen Dante move, Sabin gathered that whatever it was, it wasn't a threat to him or Danika, otherwise the other panter wouldn't have moved. Dante may be a fighter, but he wasn't stupid, and would have waited it out. 'Come out. Just becoause I'm not human doesn't mean I'm inhuman.' It was the truth. Though territorial and protective, he wasn't a monster. He wouldn't kill without provocation and was mostly patient. Stopping halfway through the clearing, his amber eyes moved from the tree Dante had been in, to the surrounding forest, wary about who else might be lurking.

Looking the panther over, a shudder tore down her back, making her whole body quiver. She stood up and walked slowly backwards out into the open, not taking her eyes off the huge feline. Her black coat swished with the movement, her dark hair still pulled tightly in a ponytail. She herd B start to hiss purposefully, but in this case didn't stop him. Hearing the Harpy talk, she took a sharp breath, his voice like liquid gold. She narrowed her eyes and let them burn into the panther, a low growl beginning in the low of her throat. She wished her father was here to help her get out of this, as he usually did, but he was no-where to be seen. She had been annoyed by the huffing laugh of the panther before, as it was still echoing in her mind. Not thinking, she turned around and looked at the Harpy. His wings where the purest of white rimmed with gold on each feather, the only visible bird feature. His hair was golden blonde, but tied at the nape of his neck. His eyes shone golden amber evan in the faint moonlight. Staring at him, words spilled out of her mouth blindly. "A Harpy." She wished she could shove them back in, but didn't make any movement. Listening to B's hissing fade, she turned back at him. Quickly shooting the panther a sharp glance with emerald eyes, she traced her cat's movement out of the corner of her eye, his black body silhouetted against the dark ground. She looked back to the Harpy. She was relieved to feel the soft rub of B on her leg through her jeans. Straightening her back, she pulled down the bottom of her shirt and brushed the dirt off it. Nodding to the Harpy, she half expected it to yell at her. After all, they where mainly solitary creatures, and this one probably wasn't much different from all the others. Opening her mouth to speak again, she actually thought about it this time, and closed it before she let herself speak. Waiting the Harpy, or panther's move, she stood still, still with the warmth of her cat on her calf. He was large for his age, but in comparison to the black panther looked tiny. They where in no position to be a nuisance here, but if completely necessary, she would give her life. But only if completely necessary, and hoping she most didn't.

Sabin watched as a young female came backing out, herded by Dante. She couldn't be older than her twenties, knowing she was human from the huffing noise Dante had made moments earlier. As her voice resounded, stating the obvious, Sabin dipped his head in a slight nod, watching her. He also knew she was armed, but the only weapon he knew of was her knife, and wouldn't automatically think that was all she was carrying. 'One of the first.' She looked as though she was expecting to be attacked, and that annoyed him, black claws slipping outof his fingers temporarily before sliding back in as if they had never been, the pinpricks of pain as they burst through his skin insubstantial. 'I'm not about to hurt you. Di would slaughter me.' She would, if he hurt this young female without provocation. But that wasn't the only reason he didn't. Sabin wasn't one to get off on hurting others, or take people out for being near him.
As soon as the female was close enough to Sabin and Danika, Dante dropped to his haunches, lying down but in a way that he could get up in an instant. His green eyes moved to the wolf that was following Sabin, but knew that the Harpy would have allowed it if he was still following them. He heaved out a sigh, his eyes going to the small cat again, and he tipped his head, too curious for his own good.

Grunting softly, shadows of pain flickering in his eyes from his sisters anger, Fajar watched the young human and the Harpy. He kept his eyes mostly on the Panthers however, natural instinct over coming the knowledge that they weren't going to hurt him. With an irritated noise he returned to the carcass of the doe and letting out a long howl to his sister, telling her to come back and eat through his song since her mind was blocked to him. He paused and listened, his ears pricked for her voice, his eyes worried. They had a rule of sorts, no matter how angry he or Senja were at each other they would always reply to the howl. If only to reassure the other that there was nothing to worry about. After a minute of waiting he howled again, more insistent this time, demanding an answer from his sister. His next howl he portrayed his worry into, ears flattening against his head as he waited.
